My soul story and how you can surrender to your divine truth 💖
🌟 One of the most powerful and humbling aspects of spiritual awakening — letting go of the ego.
This part of the journey is raw, real, and SO necessary… and I’m writing this from my own heart-space, having lived through the uncomfortable beauty of it 🦋 🫶
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve already started your journey. Maybe your world has started shifting, and you’re noticing how your old patterns, beliefs, or even identities don’t fit anymore.
You’re not alone. I’ve been there — and still visit that space often. 😅
This journey? It’s not a straight line. It’s a spiral of remembering who you are… underneath all the noise. And to truly awaken, there’s one thing we all have to face:
✨ The Ego.
🧠 Wait, What Is the Ego Really?
I should make this clear: The ego isn’t evil. It’s not the villain in your story.
Your ego is the part of you that was built to protect you. It developed from childhood wounds, social conditioning, fears, and experiences. It’s the voice that says:
-
“I need to be liked.”
-
“I have to be the best.”
-
“What if they reject me?”
-
“What if I fail?”
-
“Look at me! Validate me!”
It helped you survive. But now, as your soul awakens, you’re being called to thrive — and that requires going beyond the ego 🕊️
🌀 My Ego Death Moment: Raw, Real & Uncomfortable
I’ll never forget the day I broke down in my kitchen over something so small. A work email didn’t go my way, and I felt this massive wave of unworthiness.
Suddenly, all these thoughts flooded in:
“Am I even good enough?”
“What am I doing with my life?”
“Who am I if I’m not successful?”
But then… something cracked open.
In the stillness after that emotional storm, I heard my soul whisper: “You’re not here to prove. You’re here to BE.”
It hit me like lightning. ⚡
All my striving, all my masks, all the hustle… it was just ego trying to feel safe. But my higher self? It didn’t need any of that.
🌱 Signs You're Letting Go of the Ego (or About To)
Here’s how the ego starts dissolving in spiritual transformation:
-
You stop needing to win arguments — peace feels better than being right 😌
-
You become okay with being misunderstood — because you no longer seek external validation
-
You notice the need to impress, please, or compare starts to fade
-
You pause before reacting — you respond with consciousness instead of defense
-
You feel more connected to something bigger than your “persona”
-
You start to say, “I don’t know” — and you’re okay with it 🫶
Sound familiar? You’re growing. 🌿
💫 Why Ego Death Feels Like Falling Apart (But You’re Really Falling Into Truth)
Letting go of ego isn’t glamorous.
You might:
-
Cry without knowing why
-
Feel lost and identity-less
-
Grieve parts of yourself
-
Feel exposed, vulnerable, raw
-
Question everything
But here’s the sacred truth: The ego shatters so the soul can rise.
Just like a snake sheds its skin or a butterfly breaks the cocoon — this destruction is part of the becoming.
🔥 How to Gently Surrender the Ego
Letting go doesn’t mean attacking the ego or trying to “kill it.” That’s just… more ego 😂
It’s about softening. Witnessing. Loving it into release.
Here’s what helped me:
1. Meditation 🧘♀️
Sit in silence. Observe your thoughts without attaching to them. Watch the stories your ego spins — and let them float by like clouds ☁️
2. Inner Child Work 🧒
Most ego wounds come from childhood. Give your younger self the love, safety, and validation they never got. Speak to them with compassion.
3. Journaling Your Shadows 🖊️
Write down your triggers. Ask: “Why did this hurt me? What fear is underneath?” Your ego reveals its pain when you dig deep.
4. Let Yourself Be Seen — Flaws and All
Talk about your fears. Let people see your mess. The ego hates vulnerability, but your soul thrives in it 💗
5. Affirmations That Free You
Repeat these daily:
-
“I release the need to prove my worth.”
-
“I am enough as I am.”
-
“I surrender control and trust my higher self.”
-
“My worth isn’t tied to success, looks, or validation.”
✨ What Happens After the Ego Fades?
Oh friend… the lightness that follows is beyond words 🌈
When the ego loosens its grip, you begin to:
-
Feel inner peace no matter what’s happening outside
-
Act from love instead of fear
-
Create without needing applause
-
Love without attachment
-
Live in the now instead of chasing an identity
You start to live as your Higher Self — the true, radiant, soul-aligned YOU 🌟
🌻 A Love Letter to the Old You
To the version of you who wore all the masks, hustled for worthiness, feared rejection, and clung to control…
I see you. I love you.
You were trying your best.
But now, it’s safe to let go.
You don’t need to be anything to be worthy.
You already are.
Let the old fall away. Let the ego melt.
You are not your fear, your title, your follower count, or your past.
You are the soul behind the eyes. You are the Universe becoming conscious. You are LOVE — remembering itself 💖
🌙 Final Thoughts: Letting Go is a Homecoming
The ego may fight. It may scream. But don’t worry — your soul is louder.
You don’t have to rush this process. It unfolds in waves. Gently. Gracefully. Chaotically. Perfectly.
Just keep returning to presence.
To breath.
To love.
You are not losing yourself — you’re finally meeting yourself 💫
With all my heart and soul,
Your fellow journeyer of the light 💕🦋
P.S. If you’re in the middle of ego death, DM me (or journal it out!) with: “I’m ready to return home to my soul.”
And I’ll energetically hold you through it 🤍✨
